It was a bit of a motley crew, stewie. Geezer behind kept banging on that he was related to Randolph, some actually looked and acted like they were not quite sure what they were doing there.

I retired to the party decks at HT and unfortunately never made it back.

'From 130 it looked like they'd been standing around outside Westfield handing out tickets on some kind of BOGOF from POUNDLAND. Proper weird.'

Explains why I had to put up with GAVVY and NUTTY CRAIG all game.

How were the people around you, simon SON? From 130 it looked like they'd been standing around outside Westfield handing out tickets on some kind of BOGOF from POUNDLAND. Proper weird.

Re: What do you think the Accrington Stanley attendance will be
In block 114 row 1 last night. Great seat, next to away fans, so you are guaranteed a pretty decent atmosphere most games, I'd imagine. Big difference from some previous games I spent up in the gods.

Re: What do you think the Accrington Stanley attendance will be
3, son - sorry, the lights and roof bit were just direct responses to the two areas you mentioned, and the concourse bit was just because I was trying to think of things that people like about the place; so apologies if they seem trivial.

It's the whole thing that's the issue for me son. Like I said, literally not one thing I like about it, even down to the trivial.

Gavros 4:22 Thu Sep 22
Re: What do you think the Accrington Stanley attendance will be
yeah but apparently now sitting means plonking your arse on the edge of the (upturned) seat, so thats OK.

Buster 4:20 Thu Sep 22
Re: What do you think the Accrington Stanley attendance will be
Corners are easily the best areas.

Having stewards that don't come and tell you to sit because the folk behind can't see would be nice. Especially when you're standing in the back row with no disableds above you.

Re: What do you think the Accrington Stanley attendance will be
DRUID DIVA GRIFFIN is clearly an expectant type!

Most of your groans are trivial to me, griff son, but I'm easily pleased: views, atmosphere and getting a beer easily are the main things that matter to me.

Atmosphere goes hand in hand with the team's performance but I've been impressed when we've made a noise. The sound travels well in the stadium.

If you want to fuck it off; then I'm baffled as to why really but it's up to you. Again, your moans seem trivial to me. Just my opinion.

Re: What do you think the Accrington Stanley attendance will be

agree with that as it happens, and having been in various bits of the stadium and sitting in the corner last night, can honestly say I think the corners are the best part of the place, much better than band 1 actually.

The ends though...fuck me the ends...I mean, really? Did anyone honestly look at that and go 'yep, they're good, I think that works'? Mental.

Can we apply to the FA to have a circular playing field? That should help...

maybe talk to your overlords about making such a song and dance about having the world's greatest roof then?
If they'd just built the fucking thing no one would care - but as usual, they oversold it, over promised and under delivered.

Gavros 4:12 Thu Sep 22
Re: What do you think the Accrington Stanley attendance will be
there's one thing i absolutely hate, and thats the fucking massive gap between the pitch and the stands at the centre circle. I think its bearable at the ends and not too far off other modern stadia (and its actally quite good at the corners where im alright jack am), but its so huge on the sides its embarrassing.

"the roof doesn't do its job when it rains"

It's grumbles like this I just don't get, stewie. If you want to stay dry, stay indoors. There isn't a ground in the country that keeps everyone dry when it rains, not least UP.

stewie griffin 4:02 Thu Sep 22
Re: What do you think the Accrington Stanley attendance will be
Joking aside, I'm actually pleased you like it

Me? Honestly, hand on heart, there isn't a single thing I like about it. The lights look shit because there's only ever half of them on (I'm assuming because they're too bright) so they look like they don't work, the roof doesn't do its job when it rains, honestly could be here all day. Even the concourse and the outside - which I would guess is supposed to be one of the best things, is like you'll find at a cricket ground . Difference is at cricket you're there 7 or 8 hours in blazing sunshine, drinking all day, and you actually need to eat from one of the kiosks, rather than people just milling around there because it's better than sitting in the stadium. The gaps are full of wooden supermarket pallets ffs.

Like I said, genuinely pleased you like it. Can't see myself renewing though, it's proper depressing me. Gutted.

Actually, did think of something. The SIGHTLINES are really good. Wouldn't say view as you're too far away, but the sightlines are really good

Re: What do you think the Accrington Stanley attendance will be
I admit that the ground isn't the greatest for football, griff son, because it isn't... It's still decent enough though.

I think that the stadium looks fantastic though - the roof and lights especially. It looks impressive from the outside as well although I'm not too keen on the wrap.

You can't really judge a stadium until you've been there to watch West Ham United play there and I'm more than content with it. It's more than adequate for football. It's not Old Trafford but it's certainly good enough.

Our lease for the stadium's use is an absolute bargain. No ifs and buts about that whatsoever.

Re: What do you think the Accrington Stanley attendance will be
Cheers for that link Stewie. Interesting that the club are in denial about any ticketing issues despite the clear evidence to the contrary last night.
A lot of people queuing late at the ticket office seemed either to have not to have been sent their paper tickets on time or ST cards were not working as they should. To say it was due to a last minute rush is simply an orchestrated effort to shift the blame on to the fans.
Anyway, 40k give or take a few thou is a very good turnout

stewie griffin 3:09 Thu Sep 22
Re: What do you think the Accrington Stanley attendance will be
3...I don't think anyone has said there weren't 40k there?

Still...if you want to talk to desperate...after everything you've said in the last 5 years...all the predictions...all the histrionics...all the CAPS..every one of your posts now says 'it's an adequate football stadium and I can see the pitch from my seat'

Me thinking it's shit isn't news. Your assessment of it is far more damning.
